Shaler teachers reject pact but call off strike...

The Shaler Area Education Association rejected the tentative agreement for a new contract at their meeting on Monday.
In spite of that, the teachers decided to call off the pending strike and come into work on Tuesday, Nov. 27.
A message from Shaler Superintendent Dr. Don Lee on the school's phone system says that the two sides will continue to bargain and the schools will remain open throughout the process.
A message on the school's web site says that the special school board meeting scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 27 is cancelled since the agreement was not ratified by the teachers.
For either full message from Lee, go online at www.sasd.k12.pa.us or call 412-492-1200.
Check out the Pine Creek Journal on Wednesday, Nov. 28 for the full story.
