Memorial Park

"Come Touch the Robe" is the emphasis of a special worship service on Maundy Thursday, April 16, at Memorial Park Church.

The service will feature choral music that uses the garment Jesus wore as a thematic device to recount the interaction of people who were with Jesus during His last days on Earth.

The Memorial Park Chancel Choir, Encore Choir and Melody Makers, accompanied by the Instrumental Ensemble, will provide the music for this intimate communion service.

The service begins at 7:30 p.m. and is open to the public. The church is located at 8800 Peebles Road in Allison Park.

Northmont United Presbyterian

Northmont United Presbyterian Church will be hosting an Evening in Italy -- Northmont Style, on May 16. There will be an Italian dinner, entertainment and a silent auction. Tickets will be on sale May 3 and 10. The cost is $10 for adults, $7 for children and free for anybody 12 and younger.

North Hills Community Baptist

The church will be hosting its annual rummage sale on May 2. Volunteers are needed to help price items and set up for the event. For details, call the church office at 412-366-2662.

Wexford Presbyterian

Anybody interested in donating their time and efforts, the church is having a Spring work day on Saturday, May 2.

There will be cleaning, fellowship and lunch.

St. Mary

Applications for registration for the 2009-10 school year are being accepted in the school office.

St. Mary School offers a 3- and 4-year old preschool program as well as kindergarten to eighth grade.

• Super Bingo will be held in Marian Hall on Friday, April 17, with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $34 if purchased in advance and $40 at the door.

Bakerstown United Methodist

Bakerstown United Methodist Church now has a 2-year-old program.

Children enrolled in this program do not need to be potty trained.

Children must be 2 by Sept. 1 in order to qualify for the program.

St. Richard

On Mondays in April, St. Richard will host a Divorced and Separated Support Group from 7 to 8:30 p.m. The group will meet on April 20 and 27.

The Ladies Group of St. Richard will hold a flea market in the church hall, located at 3841, Dickey Road, on Thursday, April 30, from 6 to 9 p.m.; Friday, May 1, from 8 a.m. to noon; and Saturday, May 2, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Franklin Park Baptist

Franklin Park Baptist Church will be the hosting the play "Over the Tavern" on April 17, 18, 19, 24, 25 and 26.

The cost is $12 at the door or $10 in advance. The show has age-appropriate material and is not suitable for children under the age of 8.

All proceeds benefit local food banks.

Allison Park

"NewStart" is a group that offers support and encourages people who are struggling with broken relationships, separation or divorce. This group is grounded in Christian principles and focuses on providing an atmosphere of growth, healing, and fellowship. "NewStart" meets on Monday evenings at 7 p.m., at Allison Park Church.

St. Alphonsus

St. Alphonsus School will be hosting a used clothing sale on Saturday, April 18, in the lower gymnasium. Suit and coats will cost $5 and everything else will be $1.

The event will be open from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m., and will reopen from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. for a $5 bag sale.
