Dennehy named to state committee
Michael Dennehy Jr., Pine Township supervisor, has been reappointed to the "Townships With Populations Greater Than 5,000 But Less Than 10,000 Committee" of the Pennsylvania State Association of Township Supervisors.
Dennehy was appointed for a three-year term ending in 2008.
The committee identifies common problems and needs unique to medium-sized townships, proposes solutions through state and federal legislation and administrative initiatives, and facilitates the exchange of information through discussion, training and technical assistance.
The state association of township supervisors represents Pennsylvania's 1,456 townships of the second class and is committed to preserving and strengthening township government and securing greater visibility and involvement for townships in the state and federal political arenas.
Townships of the second class represent more residents -- 5.1 million Pennsylvanians -- than any other type of political subdivision in the commonwealth.
