North Allegheny School District is seeking nominations for the Teachers Excellence Center's Teacher Recognition Program for the 2005-06 school year.

To be eligible, teachers must work full-time in a participating school district, and have an Instructional II teaching certificate.

All teachers nominated will receive a certificate of recognition.

The top 100 teachers will be recognized at the annual Celebration of Teaching at the Carnegie Music Hall in Oakland in April.

The top five teachers will be announced at the event and their schools will receive a $2,5000 grant.

Nominations can be submitted by students, parents, administrators, colleagues and community members. Nomination forms are available at the district administrative offices and school building or online at www.teacherpa.com.

The deadline for nominations is Saturday, Dec. 31.
