Wexford elementary
Students at Wexford Elementary School collected, assembled and shipped off more than 150 student kits to DeLisle Elementary School in Pass Christian, Miss,
DeLisle was the only school left standing in Pass Christian after Hurricane Katrina.
Fourth and fifth graders, who participate in Wexford's Outreach Program, helped create personal care kits.
Teachers and staff members collected $1,200 to create the kits, which contained pencils, pens, rulers, scissors, paint, glue, erasers, colored pencils, toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap and more.
Ingomar Elementary
Ashley Aftanas, a seventh grade student at Ingomar Middle School, has been accepted into the People to People Student Ambassador Class of 2006, which gives students the opportunity to travel abroad or to regions of the United States and North America with other peers from the area.
Membership is by invitation only and is based on the recommendation of peers, instructors and community leaders.
Marshall Elementary
Marshall Elementary third graders have formed a partnership with Good Samaritan Hospice, Wexford, for the 2005-2006 school year.
Ms. Mary Hritz, third grade teacher, organized the program in an effort to help her students to find meaningful ways to brighten the lives of others.
The students create artwork and crafts for the residents of Good Samaritan Hospice, which are delivered by visiting nurses who have agreed to help the partnership. For additional information contact Mary Hritz at Marshall Elementary School by calling, 724-935-4044.
