Mary H. Rooker
retired teacher
Mary H. Rooker, 88, of Sherwood Oaks in Cranberry Town-ship, formerly of Gibsonia died on May 21.
Born in Windber, Somerset County, on Sept. 1, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Harper and Hazel Meek Hudson.
She was an active member of Sherwood Oaks Community since moving there in 1987. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Bakers-town and attended Dutihl United Methodist Church in Cranberry Township.
Rooker is survived by a son, William C. Rooker of Valencia; two daughters, Judy Sayers of Gibsonia and Carol Bay of Craigsville, W. Va.; five grandchildren, Jeff Sayers, Brian and Amanda Rooke and Kristi and Patrick Bay; and two great grandchildren, Kaylee and Conner Sayers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William F. Rooker, whom she married on Aug. 30, 1945, and who died on Nov. 23, 1970.
Friends are invited to a memorial service at 2 p.m. today (Thursday, May 26) at the Chapel at Sherwood Oaks in Cranberry Township.
Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery in Johnstown, Pa.
Arrangements are under the direction of McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, Mars.
